Save Our Mangroves Now

I work as an otter conservationist to reverse the decline of mangrove habitats in Vietnam and across the globe to restore biodiversity, protect livelihoods, and mitigate against the impacts of the climate  crisis. Why mangroves matter - Superheroes of biodiversity Survival artists, nature’s kindergarten, climate savers – mangroves are versatile superheroes. They are habitat and nursery for over 3000 fish species, can store 3 to 5 times more carbon per area than tropical upland forests, and provide livelihoods for over 120 million people. But this unique ecosystem is under threat: more than a third of all mangrove forests have disappeared since the mid-20th century due to agriculture, logging, and urbanization. Top 3 địa danh công viên địa chất toàn cầu tại Việt Nam

Thật tự hào khi nghe được tin Việt nam được UNESCO công nhận 3 công viên ở Việt Nam là công viên địa chất toàn cầu. Những địa điểm này trở thành điểm đến cho du khách trong và ngoài nước đến và khám phá. 

Các công viên này là nơi dừng chân lý tưởng cho những ai thích khám phá vẻ đẹp thiên nhiên pha lẫn lịch sử. Các địa điểm này còn lưu lại những nét đẹp văn hoá truyền thống của cư dân bản địa. 

CAO NGUYÊN ĐÁ ĐÔNG VĂN (HÀ GIANG) 

Đây là nơi được công nhận là công viên địa chất toàn cầu đầu tiên tại Việt Nam và thứ 2 ở Đông Nam Á. Công viên này được trải dài qua 4 huyện Quản Bạ, Yên Minh, Đồng Văn và Mèo Vạc. Tại đây còn lưu lại các tài nguyên như các hang động, địa tầng, địa mạo,... có các dân tộc thiểu số Mông, Dao, Tày, Lô Lô, Nùng sinh sống tại các vùng nơi đây nên du khách đến tham quan có thể hoà nhập vào cuộc sống của họ và khám phá thêm những điều mới mẻ. 

NON NƯỚC CAO BẰNG (CAO BẰNG) 

Công viên này chiếm gần một nửa diện tích của tỉnh Cao Bằng và được UNESCO công nhận vào tháng 4/2018. Nơi đây gắn liền với nhiều lịch sử và văn hoá của Việt Nam như thác Bản Giốc, hàng Pác Bó, suối Lê Nin,...ở đây còn có nguồn tài nguyên dồi dào như hoá thạch, trầm tích biển, núi lửa, khoáng sản. 


ĐẮK NÔNG

Thành lập vào năm 2015. Có chiều dài lên đến 10,000m với nhiều hang động, thác nước và miệng núi lửa. Nơi này rất thích hợp cho những ai chuyên về ngành sinh học vì có những nét độc đáo về hệ sinh thái nhiệt đới như là vườn quốc gia Tà Nùng, thác Liêng Nung, vườn quốc gia Yok Đôn,... cho đến ngày 7/7 vừa qua, nơi này đã được UNESCO công nhận là công viên địa chất toàn cầu.

Vietnam’s Coral Reefs Are Dying

Coral reefs around the world have been seriously degraded over the past 20 years and Vietnam’s are no exception. These ecosystems, which are vital to sustaining oceanic biodiversity, are very sensitive to changing ocean temperatures and destructive human activities. Experts warn that within 20 years, Vietnam may not have any left. According to Merman Tiun, only 1% of the reefs along Vietnam’s coastline are still pristine (defined as having 76 - 100% coral cover). 31% are in “poor condition” (defined as having 0 – 10% coral cover).“Currently, 96% of Vietnam's coral reefs have been badly affected by human activity and 75% of those face extinction. In recent years, fishermen in Danang have used upgraded nets, causing tremendous damage to coastal reefs. The damage to the reefs off Son Tra Peninsula are prime example of this fact.
