Save Our Mangroves Now

I work as an otter conservationist to reverse the decline of mangrove habitats in Vietnam and across the globe to restore biodiversity, protect livelihoods, and mitigate against the impacts of the climate  crisis. Why mangroves matter - Superheroes of biodiversity Survival artists, nature’s kindergarten, climate savers – mangroves are versatile superheroes. They are habitat and nursery for over 3000 fish species, can store 3 to 5 times more carbon per area than tropical upland forests, and provide livelihoods for over 120 million people. But this unique ecosystem is under threat: more than a third of all mangrove forests have disappeared since the mid-20th century due to agriculture, logging, and urbanization. Tình trạng hiện tại sau những đám cháy lớn tại Australia

Nếu như thời tiết thuận lợi, những người cứu hỏa đã có thể dập tắt được lửa sớm ngăn chặn vụ cháy rừng lan rộng ra hơn. Nhưng vì biến đổi khí hậu và thời tiết, các loại cây bắt lửa nhanh hơn và dễ hơn nên xảy ra tình trạng cháy kéo dài ở Australia. 

Người ta gọi đó là mùa hè đen vì đám cháy làm cho bầu trời lúc nào cũng có những đám khói màu đen. Trận cháy kéo dài từ tháng 6/2019 tới tháng 5/2020. Có 1 nhiếp ảnh gia đã kịp chụp lại khoảnh khắc sự biến đổi sau vụ cháy, chỉ còn lại nhung cây dương sĩ đứng giữa đống tro phủ đầy. 

Đám cháy đã phá hoại tới 18 triệu ha rừng, 3500 toà nhà và nhiều loại động vật không còn chỗ để ở. Gây ra một số loại đứng trước nguy cơ tuyệt chủng. Vì thế nên việc quản lý và sau khi rừng cháy được các lãnh đạo đem ra thảo luận rất nhiều. Biến đổi khí hậu cũng được họ nhắc đến rất nhiều. Tuy nhiên, có nhiều người nói rằng do cây bạch đàn.

Sau trận cháy xảy ra liên tục, phía nam Australia đã bị khô hạn và được con người ước tính khoảng 3 tỷ động vật bị chết hoặc mất chỗ ở. Theo báo cáo cho biết, ở vườn quốc gia Kosciuszko đã có một vài cây chết khi đám chay lan ra, còn có những con ngựa hoang mất nơi ở.
