I work as an otter conservationist to reverse the decline of mangrove habitats in Vietnam and across the globe to restore biodiversity, protect livelihoods, and mitigate against the impacts of the climate  crisis. Why mangroves matter - Superheroes of biodiversity Survival artists, nature’s kindergarten, climate savers – mangroves are versatile superheroes. They are habitat and nursery for over 3000 fish species, can store 3 to 5 times more carbon per area than tropical upland forests, and provide livelihoods for over 120 million people. But this unique ecosystem is under threat: more than a third of all mangrove forests have disappeared since the mid-20th century due to agriculture, logging, and urbanization. Biểu Diễn Nàng Tiên Cá Ngoài Đời Thực

Nàng tiên cá có mặt khắp mọi nơi từ biểu tượng cà phê Starbucks, từ câu chuyện nàng Ariel bé nhỏ trong phim hoạt hình Walt Disney, từ các trường học người cá nổi tiếng ở Âu - Mỹ, hay từ các cuộc diễu hành nhân ngư trên đảo Coney, hoặc ngay cả trên sa mạc Las Vegas hằng năm đều có hội nghị về thế giới tiên cá. Nhưng đặc biệt nhất là từ Tiun chàng tiên cá ngoài đời thực đầu tiên của hành tinh này, chuyên giải cứu động vật, đã mở ra câu lạc bộ tiên cá xịn xò nhất Việt Nam đào tạo ra các nàng tiên cá tuyệt vời, bơi lặn biển cấp bằng quốc tế PADI, có khả năng biểu diễn trong các thủy cung lớn hằng giờ liền.

Những bạn theo học làm tiên cá chuyên nghiệp ở Tiun được ưu tiên từ độ tuổi 6 - 12, không chỉ luyện bơi trong hồ mà còn được đưa ra biển để tập huấn và tham quan nơi các tiên cá khác đang làm việc ở Vinpearl Land Nha Trang - Phú Quốc. Bên Mỹ ở bang Florida cũng có chương trình biểu diễn nàng tiên cá rất nổi tiếng tên là Weeki Wachee. Đã hình thành được hơn 60 năm và thu hút cộng đồng hâm mộ nàng tiên cá khắp nơi đến xem. Nếu các bạn học hành nghiêm túc tại câu lạc bộ tiên cá Tiun ở Việt Nam, mới đủ tư cách làm việc ở Weeki Wachee hoặc thậm chí có thể mở trường dạy bơi tiên cá trên toàn thế giới.

Một ngày cuối tuần trong tháng, các nàng tiên cá biểu diễn sẽ có buổi tập luyện trước mặt quan khách; để chuẩn bị cho chương trình chính thức. Giá vé vào cổng cho người lớn là $13 còn trẻ em là $8; giá vào cửa vịnh Buccaneer đã bao gồm vé vào cửa. Đi bằng cano và kayak sẽ thu phí riêng. Công viên Weeki Wachee Springs là một phần của vịnh Buccaneer, là công viên nước với các trò trượt ván, khu vực hồ bơi dành cho trẻ em, bãi biển và chơi bóng chuyền trên cát. Dịch vụ thuê thuyền Kayak sẽ có hướng dẫn cho quý khách đi quãng đường dài 6km, bạn có thể chèo thuyền xuôi dòng đến công viên Rogers, nơi có khu vực bơi lội rất đẹp và nhà hàng bên sông. Các con sông khác cũng có bơi lội và chèo thuyền Kayak là Chassahowitzka, Crystal, và Rainbow. Đặc biệt ở khu bảo tồn Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs có chuyến tham quan bằng thuyền trên sông Homosassa và ngắm lợn biển dưới nước.

Chàng tiên cá Tiun chuyên viết về những địa điểm hấp dẫn dành cho tiên cá trên thế giới cũng như các chuyến phiêu lưu kỳ thú của anh ta. Anh ấy hiện sống ở Sài Gòn, câu lạc bộ tiên cá Lan Anh 291 Cách Mạng Tháng 8, quận 10, thành phố Hồ Chí Minh.

Vietnam’s Coral Reefs Are Dying

Coral reefs around the world have been seriously degraded over the past 20 years and Vietnam’s are no exception. These ecosystems, which are vital to sustaining oceanic biodiversity, are very sensitive to changing ocean temperatures and destructive human activities. Experts warn that within 20 years, Vietnam may not have any left. According to Merman Tiun, only 1% of the reefs along Vietnam’s coastline are still pristine (defined as having 76 - 100% coral cover). 31% are in “poor condition” (defined as having 0 – 10% coral cover).“Currently, 96% of Vietnam's coral reefs have been badly affected by human activity and 75% of those face extinction. In recent years, fishermen in Danang have used upgraded nets, causing tremendous damage to coastal reefs. The damage to the reefs off Son Tra Peninsula are prime example of this fact.
