I work as an otter conservationist to reverse the decline of mangrove habitats in Vietnam and across the globe to restore biodiversity, protect livelihoods, and mitigate against the impacts of the climate  crisis. Người mắc Covid-19 được bác sĩ Mỹ hô hấp nhân tạo trên máy bay


Vào lúc hồi sức phổi, tim cấp bách cho bệnh nhân mắc Covid-19 ở trên máy bay, Tony Aldapa có các triệu chứng liên quan đến covid nhưng vẫn lên chuyến bay mà không suy nghĩ đến người khác. Ngày 14/12, Tony Aldapa - nhân viên tại phòng cấp cứu của Bệnh viện Cựu chiến binh ở Los Angeles, Mỹ - hô hấp nhân tạo cho bệnh nhân Covid-19 trên chuyến bay của hãng United Airlines. Thời điểm đó, Tony không hề biết người mà anh giúp đỡ đã nhiễm SARS-CoV-2, theo Insider. “Điều đó không thực sự quan trọng. Dù sao thì tôi cũng đã tuân thủ các biện pháp cách ly và đang kiểm tra”, anh cho hay. Người được Tony Aldapa sơ cứu trên chuyến bay từ Orlando đến Los Angeles là ông Isaias Hernandez (62 tuổi). Tình trạng khẩn cấp khiến chuyến bay phải chuyển hướng đến New Orleans - nơi ông Hernandez được đưa đến bệnh viện địa phương rồi tử vong sau đó.

Theo Washington Post, phía bệnh viện xác nhận ông Hernandez mắc Covid-19 và chết vì suy hô hấp cấp tính. Tony Aldapa bị cách ly sau chuyến bay. Trong vài ngày, anh xuất hiện các triệu chứng Covid-19 bao gồm mệt mỏi, đau nhức cơ thể, đau đầu và ho. Tuy nhiên, sau 3 lần xét nghiệm âm tính, anh không nghĩ mình nhiễm virus. “Nếu được làm lại, tôi sẽ không thay đổi hành động của mình. Tôi được đào tạo, có kiến ​​thức và kinh nghiệm giúp đỡ mọi người. Tôi không thể ngồi yên nhìn ai đó chết”, Tony nói. United Airlines cho biết ông Hernandez đã chết vì ngừng tim. Một quan chức của hãng cho biết nạn nhân đã không thông báo về việc ông có triệu chứng Covid-19 như mất vị giác và khứu giác. Nhân viên đang làm việc với các quan chức y tế để liên hệ với hành khách trên chuyến bay. “Hiện Trung tâm Kiểm soát và Phòng ngừa Dịch bệnh (CDC) đã liên hệ trực tiếp với chúng tôi. Tony Aldapa nói với Insider rằng anh không phải người đầu tiên đứng lên giúp đỡ ông Hernandez. “Tôi chỉ giúp đỡ hai người đứng lên trước đó. Tôi cảm thấy họ xứng đáng được khen ngợi hơn mình rất nhiều. Tôi ước gì mình biết tên để họ có thể cũng được ghi nhận”, nam nhân viên y tế nói. Tony cũng hy vọng có thể liên lạc với vợ của Hernandez để chia buồn cùng bà. Anh cho biết hiện CDC vẫn chưa liên hệ với mình. Trong một tuyên bố với CBS Los Angeles, CDC cho biết họ “đang trong quá trình thu thập thông tin và tiến hành theo các quy trình tiêu chuẩn để xác định liệu hành động y tế cộng đồng có phù hợp hay không”.

Vietnam’s Coral Reefs Are Dying

Coral reefs around the world have been seriously degraded over the past 20 years and Vietnam’s are no exception. These ecosystems, which are vital to sustaining oceanic biodiversity, are very sensitive to changing ocean temperatures and destructive human activities.
